Microsoft Office 2007 Training

On 30th January 2007, Microsoft released the latest version in their Office series - Microsoft Office 2007. Plato Training is busy developing training programs for this next generation Office 2007 suite.
With a new look and a whole host of new features - Office 2007 will be the new application that a working office couldn't do without. The highlights of these new features include:

• User interface - Also known as Microsoft Office Fluent, Office 2007 comes with a whole new graphical interface and look. Giving you, easier control in using the different tools and functions.
• The Office Button - The Office Button replaces File from the menu bar, giving the ability to save, open print or share a file in MS Office.
• Ribbon - The Ribbon groups different functions together in different tabs on the toolbar. Each program (such as Word or Excel) has their own group of tabs. As well as the commonly used tabs (such has font format and styles).
• Contextual Tabs - Contextual tabs only appear when an item is selected that relates to that item. Example, if you select a table - the Contextual table tab appears - allowing you to fully format the table.
• Live Preview - This is a new feature to Office '07. Live Preview allows you to preview your changes by mousing over different items without saving formatted changes.
• Mini Toolbar - The mini toolbar appears whenever text is selected giving you access to commonly used functions such size, bold or alignment.
• Other UI features - Other popular features new to the user interface of Office 2007 include Super Tool Tips, Quick Access Toolbar and Zoom.
• SmartArt - SmartArt allows you to quickly insert art from over 115 preset SmartArt templates.
• File formats - Microsoft introduce a new file format on Office '07 - Office OpenXML. Its based on XML and allows you to compress file sizes by up to 75%
• User Assistance System - With a new and improved help system, Microsoft have removed the Office Assistance. Now with more use of tooltips and directories.
• Collaboration features - Microsoft have introduced several new features to encourage file sharing and swapping.
• Themes and Quick Styles - Microsoft Office comes with a whole new range of theme to customise your office to suit you.
